Although born in Denver, Jack Swigert, the command module pilot for Apollo 13, spent significant time in Pueblo. Swigert was part of the historic NASA mission that experienced a near-catastrophic failure but was successfully brought back to Earth. He later became a congressman-elect before his untimely death.
